Globalizing the Intifada
It's only beginning
Just when you think the domestic and international Left can’t get any worse … it gets worse. Their latest achievement, applauded by many extreme leftists and their allies among the Palestinians, is the “globalization” of the intifada. In case you live in a hole and are unfamiliar with the term, intifada is an idea build on a Palestinian Pyramid of Lies with the underlying claim that the so-called “palestinians”, a name invented in the 1960s to give them false claim to a land that has been occupied by Jews for millenia, are justified in any action against Jews—rape, murder, kidnappings, bombings and much more.
Two days ago, a leftist crazy believed a tsunami of propaganda that claimed ”genocide” and “famine” were occurring in Gaza. Both claims are blatant lies, but that never stops the “free, free Palestine” crowd, who at best are fantasy thinkers and at worse … well, think a leftist crazy who in this case murdered two young Jewish people—Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim—in Washington, DC., executing the unarmed couple at point blank range.
The New York Times, a media rag that reflects mainstream leftist thought, discussed the murders but insisted on reminding us that anti-Israel protesters are “mostly peaceful.” After all, October 7th was so long ago and the grievances of the Gazans are so compelling that a little terror here and there is understandable. Right?
In this and many other instances, the left’s hypocrisy is palpable. For example, the NYT and other leftist media sources (meaning the vast majority of all mainstream media) have been fixated on the Charlottesville protests and resultant riot since 2017. There’s little debate that the white nationalist, neo-Nazi, and KKK groups in attendance are despicable people. There is no prominent conservative politician who supported or excuses them1 because their their ideas are abhorrent and should be rejected by all.
The “Free, free Palestine” crowd has equally abhorrent ideas. After all, they (1) directly and forcefully advocate the annihilation of Israel (“from the river to the sea” is NOT simply a catchy meme phrase that ignorant leftists claim it is), (2) justify the killing of any Jews that get in their way, and (3) encourage the export of hate and murder everywhere on the planet. Nice people. Yet, the NYT insists on telling us that these despicable cretins are “mostly peaceful.” They would never, ever suggest that the Charlottesville protest and riots were “mostly peaceful.”
But I digress. Let’s return to the Left’s romantic notion of globalizing the intifada. I have on numerous occasions noted that some leftist thinkers (I use the term loosely), like their allies among Islamists in general and palestinians in particular, make claims that are predicated on BIG lies—historically inaccurate, blatantly counter-factual, and repugnant in their antisemitic bias.2 Over the years, I have identified some of those lies here, here, here, and here.
So the Left and their allies within Islam think that terrorizing the West will somehow convince Israelis to commit national suicide and that the Arab-Muslim crescent will finally be Judenrein. They should think again.
The phrase “never again” has a special meaning to those of us who support Israel and have lost half their ancestral family due to a real, not imagined, genocide. We find it offensive that the Left and their Islamist allies have turned snot-nosed, historically ignorant college students into useful idiots who wear keffiyehs in support of a death cult. We find it repugnant that some members of the U.S Congress support those idiots and their heroes in Hamas. We find it laughable that the Left thinks that globalizing the intifada will convince a majority of Americans to roll over and support evil. But then again, the Left’s stock in trade is fantasy. Reality will have its say.
You might ask, why am I so critical of the Left, and by extension the political party that is increasing ruled by leftist thought. Why am I so hard on them, given that for decades, we’ve heard that conservatives are racists, misogynists, gun owners, and anti-intellectual. Their political party only cares about millionaires and billionaires. And apropos of this discussion, right-wingers are “white supremacists” who we all know are anti-Semites at their core and are therefore the “real threat to Jews.” All of this is the Left’s own Pyramid of Lies, but for now, let’s focus solely on “the real threat to Jews.”
In an article in Commentary, Abe Greenwald reports on a discussion of Donald Trump’s sanctions on Harvard University. After arguing that the rabid anti-Semitism and criminality exhibited on elite university campuses and the murders discussed earlier in this post, Greenwald writes that a “switch has been flipped.” He wants Harvard sanctioned. But then he notes that one of the participants in the discussion made the following point:
He noted that, historically, anti-intellectual movements that take off in anti-Semitic atmospheres lead to catastrophe. And it’s true that Jew-haters lurk in the corners of the populist right.
So much for intellectual thought. I think it’s reasonable to state that the Jew-haters (some of the so-called resistence”) who “lurk in the corners” of college campuses and NGOs created an anti-Semitic atmosphere that was pretty “catastrophic” for the two young people murdered in D.C.
Since October 7th, virtually all of the anti-Semitism visited upon Jews worldwide has come from two sources: Muslims and Leftists. Sure there are right-wing idiots who are rabit anti-Semites, but they have NO POWER and no broad-based means of communicating their message. And therein lies a real problem and a serious threat.
In the United States, the Left essentially controls the message whether it comes from main stream media, academia, the entertainment industry, or the majority of government agencies.3 Until very recently, they and they alone could censor content and choose which news stories to tell and which to avoid, what context to provide and which to omit, which villains to create and which to make into heroes.
In recent years, some on the left have taken off their masks, and we now see them for who they are—people driven by ignorance, hatred, extreme ideological bias, and yes, anti-Semitism masquerading as anti-Zionism. One hopes that FAFO holds sway, but in this case, I doubt that it will.
When asked whether she condemned the murder of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim two days ago, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) refused to answer. I suspect other members of the leftist “squad” will be equally circumspect.
And please, spare me the utter nonsense that being “anti-Zionist” is somehow different than being anti-Semitic. There are 22 Muslim counties, dozens of Hindu, Christian, and tribal countries. The Jews have one and only one country, totaling less than 8,500 square miles (as compared to 5 million square miles within the Arab-Muslim crescent). Being an anti-Zionist says Israel can’t have even that.
The recent election will change the tenor of of some government agencies, but not as much as many people think.
